I love the idea that while they're together, Liam starts researching the ace spectrum and all this stuff to understand Theo better and then the open relationship thing comes up. Liam asks Theo what he thinks of course but only out of curiosity and Theo GOES CRAZY. Literally. He starts having all sorts of complexes about Liam and their relationship, about how they shouldn't be together, about how Liam wants to cheat on him but is too good to do that etc... and of course Liam knows NOTHING. Liam has even forgotten that he ever asked the question and in the meantime Theo is going through a total crisis.

I think it's basically canon that at some point Liam makes a comment about someone like a teammate of his (maybe like "yeah the new goalie, Mason says he's handsome) and Theo has a panic attack and Liam obviously gets scared and worried because he has no idea what's been going on in Theo's head for WEEKS and nothing, I love an insecure king.

Theo Raeken, known for his selfishness, does his best to not fall in love with Liam, because he can't destroy him like that, can't put him in the place to choose between him and his pack. Theo believing his not worthy enough to him.

Liam Dunbar, the selfless one, always doing everything for his pack, controlling himself to please everyone, allowing himself to fall for Theo, to love him. Because he can make it work, he can trust Theo, that he changed somehow. He chooses to be selfish one time for Theo. He can deal with the pack later, but he'll fight for him first, to show him his worth saving.

im slapping another greek mythology inspired game onto liams game list and claiming that he'd like hades

when theo plays stray, liam watches the entire time. even though he knows the whole game, liam plays it himself after theo finishes it because he loved it so much. and theo watches liam play the entire time too, because he also loved it <3 (im spreading the thiam kitty agenda)

liam almost cried when the wolf fenrir died at the beginning of gow: ragnarök, hated having to fight the wolf garm and then actually cried when fenrir got resurrected

he sees himself in both kratos (having been deceived into killing someone he loves, having to control his rage, evolving from being someone aggressive into being a gentle person/a god of hope and accepting that people will follow him as a leader) and atreus (constantly trying to prove himself, being impulsive and reckless.) the way their father-son relationship and their characters in general develop is very cathartic for him to watch

liam had a pokémon go phase and made theo drive him around constantly during it. he gets into pokémon in general afterwards

RE7 is difficult to play for theo. its main antagonist has some similarities to him (a child turned weapon that longs to have a family/pack, gets called a monster & punished for the aggressive way they go about acquiring it) and the setting (stuck in a house with a family that doesnt act like a family at all) reminds him of how he grew up: stuck in operating theaters with the dread doctors as his "caretakers" and the fake-families he got set up with

he has to take a lot of breaks and sometimes liam takes over for him and plays through the especially emotionally challenging parts for him until theo is ready to continue

RE8 is difficult for both of them. there are a lot of werewolf-like monsters (that were previously human) you have to fight, and the beneviento house + the DLC feature a lot of bullying, which liam struggles with. heisenberg's & moreau's area and miranda's lab are extremely triggering for theo due to heavy themes of experimentation and heisenberg's soldiers having a similar look to the dread doctors

usually they each play through a game on their own, but for RE8 they only play it once together and really take their time. they each take care of the especially triggering parts for the other. they dont skip playing it because it's also quite cathartic for them: they're in a safe environment, have control over what's happening and can pause at any time. they both have problems with being vulnerable and opening up about their trauma, so it's a good tool for them to confront these past experiences and also understand each other even better

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

they both got really excited over botw. liam absolutely hates the horses in the game, but theo has a soft spot for epona and is disappointed that she isnt in it. liam finds out that you can get her through an amiibo and buys it for theo

liam loves that you can change link's clothes and spends a lot of time farming rupees so that he can buy multiple copies of the outfits and dye them different colors

theo always drops the rocks onto the koroks' heads and once tears of the kingdom (the sequel) comes out, he makes it his mission to attach a rocket onto them and send them off into the distance every single time

More Games the Puppy Pack would Play

Pico Park (more yelling. so much yelling. uncoordinated, claws get unsheathed, threats are being made)

Stick Fight: The Game (alec loves the flamethrowers. thiam keep tag teaming everybody and keep winning without even having to use weapons)

Splatoon (alec thought the squid forms looked cool and begged the other members to play it with him. theo is the only one who ever covers the base and keeps reminding everyone that they wouldnt have won if it wasnt for him doing that. corey and liam love playing stealthily, either as snipers or just trying to otherwise surprise their opponents)

not a video game, but: mason got really into DnD when he was younger and tried to rope liam into it, who was only mildly interested. they ended up not being able to play anyway since it was only the two of them. so when the puppy pack forms, mason brings it up again as they now have a big enough group

mason is the DM. thiam basically end up playing themselves as their characters reluctantly fall in love bc they cant stop flirting with each other. alec casts fireball at literally everything. nolan plays a rogue, and all of them judge him for that at first, but he ends up getting really into character and surprising all of them. corey flirts with mason to get information out of him. gwen plays a lesbian barbarian (yes, her favorite bg3 character is karlach.) hayden is basically the only one with braincells

A NOTP I have with said character: hmm dont know, if done right i could see him with a lot of the characters tbh. (Except the weird ones ofc. Like keep Peter out of any ships ever please)

A random headcanon: i think he genuinely didnt like Liam back when they went to the same school. But after Liam gets bitten, after the shit he goes through, after Liam grows up, Brett is absolutely baffled by the person Liam has become. He finds himself weirdly fascinated and impressed, by Liams maturity and his strength and his character. He never thought the annoying kid he knew would ever turn into this and its throwing him off. He definitely spends a few days if not weeks after that realization in a very weird huh state whenever he thinks about it.

Liam also once accidentally makes a flirty comment towards Brett and Brett totally malfunctions because i didnt know he could do that

General Opinion over said character: love him!! I think hes so fun and i wish hed had more screentime. Hes also one of my favs, best side character for sure. I also have his hoodie, the one with his jersey number and Talbot written on the back

Sexuality Headcanon: gayyyy very gay.

Though hes regularly blown away by a woman's beauty, in an aesthetic way anyways. (Him and Mason both, theyre very aestheticly appreciative people 🙂‍↕️)

Gender Headcanon: im realizing I've been exposed to a distinct lack of gender hcs in this fandom. Hm... trans man Corey fits very well imo.

A ship I have with said character: well Mason and Corey are just a given, i dont think either of them have a lot of potential other contestants.

Though ive gotta say, just by sending me this ask and putting their names together, you've given me many thoughts about Brett x Corey. I think Corey is totally Bretts type. And if anyone could fluster Brett it might actually be Corey. And we all know Corey and Mason both drool over Brett regularly..... i need a fic where Mason and Corey try to get Brett to join their relationship and i need it NOW. And then Brett thinks theyre just joking cause hes hot but theyre actually dead serious.... mmm yes.. yes

A BROTP I have with said character: i really enjoy him and Theo as friends. Its soo interesting. Itd take so much time and work and bitter feelings thatll never fully pass but they have such potential to be genuinely good friends. To acknowledge each other fully and develop a mutual respect... ugh yeah

A NOTP I have with said character: uhhh any female character...? Hes canonically gay so. As for guys i dont think i like Corey and Theo as anything other than platonic. Also Scott and Corey just doesnt fit. Scott is their literal dad 🤷‍♂️

A random headcanon: i know its not like this in the show, since both Scott and Liam are able to find Corey when hes invisible, but i think he should really be able to disappear completely. I think when he turns invisible, his scent and his heartbeat should be totally indetectable to any supernatural too. Even supernaturals shouldn't be able to detect him!!

He also should use his ability way more and for anything, just in day to day life, just cause its fun. Through that he also learns tricks like only disappearing his head but not his body, scaring the absolute crap out of Liam the first time he does it. He also sometimes accidentally turns invisible when he's sleeping, and the whole McCall pack has spent at least one whole afternoon frantically searching for him all over when he was just curled up in the armchair in the corner of the room taking a good old nap.

General Opinion over said character: when I first watched the show i found him pretty plain and boring, mostly because I don't think they utilized him and his abilities enough. I have since read some great fics and reconstructed my own image of him and he's a great character!! So much potential to be such a fun character. He's such a little shit, and he's also really brave and a great friend. I like it when fic authors make him hold a grudge against Theo for longer too for example. It gives him a depth that I really like. He's not just this happy go lucky guy, especially not after the stuff he went through.

!TW: mentions of eating disorders. Please be careful with it!

I've read a lot of HC about Theo being a picky eater and eating like a toddler but I want to make it more angsty: Theo might actually have ARFID (which is an eating disorder) where a person physically cannot eat foods that they don't consider "safe" (usually very few).

Follow me, considering that Theo had a normal life before the doctors, the last time he ate "normally" was at 8 years old. From here there are two possible outcomes: the doctors fed Theo pills or supplements without ever giving him real food or (more likely, especially after hell) Theo always had to provide for himself and so it's obvious that he ate fast food/junk food that he could get easily, with little money or by stealing it.

In both cases, it's obvious that Theo develops hypersensitivity to smells/flavors/textures that are different from those he knows, and considering that Theo is a control freak, it's not that unlikely that he has literal panic attacks when someone tries to "force" him to try something new.

I also think it's pretty tragic that no one, not even Theo, initially notices. Like Liam or Mason or Corey maybe "make fun" of him for eating like a toddler and Theo actually thinks he could eat more if he wanted to when in reality he doesn't.

A Liam Dunbar Story

okay, so this one is something that is very dear to me bc liam is such a comfort character to me (anger issues and all). i kinda wanted to think about how liam grew up bc we don't know much about his childhood, real dad or family in general. i have this hc that liam has an anxious attachment style bc he was really worried about scott leaving and clearly down bad when hayden had left. besides that, i think liam's ied is something really inetersting to look at! so this wip just kinda shows liam in different life stages. there's no thiam and it's all based on my own perception of liam! i made a thread about him on twt, the link is here.

this is still a wip bc i'm still figuring out some details even tho it's mainly done (i also started working on a jenna dunbar story, which yeah, is more like an oc of me, but hey, im an adult i can write whatever the heck i want lol)

“Oh, he is,” Liam insisted, grabbing Theo’s arm for emphasis, his expression deadly serious. “And I love him. Like, so much.” He exhaled dreamily, then announced with great importance, “I’m gonna marry him, you know.”

Theo’s heart did something annoyingly soft at that. “You’re gonna marry him, huh?”

“Yup!” Liam nodded with so much enthusiasm he nearly launched himself off the curb. “So you shouldn’t be getting any ideas, okay? ‘Cause you’re nice. Super nice. But my boyfriend? He’s my soulmate.”

Theo stared at him, caught between laughing and kissing the idiot senseless. “Noted. No ideas.”

he introduces theo to some of the music and shows him some videos too. theo never admits it but there are songs that he enjoys as well (liam has good taste)

liam also shows him kpop noise music (like a sticker..) and liam is like "theres also this... i dont like this but yeah" and then immediately judges theo bc theo is like Oh. More.

theo starts using aegyo as a manipulation tactic/to annoy liam and liam absolutely hates it. he cringes everytime, but he also actually does find theo cute and secretly gets a bit flustered. theo refuses to be embarrassed about it, which just infuriates liam even further

if you are ever searching for something to write thiam for, i’ve always loved the headcanon that theo didn’t actually remember anything before the doctors and that’s why he was so easily able to like emotionally withdraw from it and it wasn’t until tara that he actually started remembering. no pressure i adore everything you write just thought you could do the hc justice :)

Hmmm very curious. There’s some interesting potentials with that, though I’d have to play around with what that means for his character and his potential growth: if he doesn’t remember Tara, for example, how does that change what happens in the skinwalker prison? Or, you might be suggesting he remembers that, but not his childhood or his parents. 🤔

I feel like i dont have any headcanons for thiam that much or any ideas for like what they do or anything but thats simply bc i cant think of anything usually aside from things that are canon lol. That being said i do love the hc that theo is good at biology bc of the dread doctors.

I also have maybe one hc that i thought of but its more abt isaac and its that he wears scarves after the icebath bc he is constantly cold after that and thats why he wears scarves lmao.
